Essentially man has harnessed the power of the sun, since the earliest of times. When we look at what is available today in solar equipment it has come a long way but still needs a long way to go.
It is not so much, the lack of equipment but in the adoption by the average home owner. In a recent trip to Colorado Springs, I was amazed to see some of the uses that they’ve employed.
What I found was the warning lights for the school crossing zones where solar powered. Now this I’m sure is probably not new technology by any means, still it was refreshing to see the application in use.
I can remember back to my youth and watching as my parents placed a solar installation on our home in New Mexico. While the system was primarily designed to heat hot water for the home, it worked.
Later they installed a solar hot air collector; this unit worked awesome during the winter months. It would raise the temperature of the home to the mid 80’s during the winter if you continued to let it run.
Today we have even more products that are coming to the market. While we should practice energy conservation always, does it really make sense when it comes to solar power?
Today there are to many obstacles in the widespread adoption of solar energy, in many ways we need the government to simply get out of the way. This applies to both the Federal, State and Local levels.
The solution is we need more ecopreneurs, leading the charge so we can truly change the world one panel at a time. Learn more about how you can help visit our page on Powur.
This site like so many others is to bring attention to the growing problem of energy dependence. The simple facts are that we Americans as a Nation are consuming energy at an alarming rate.
Yet each year we are becoming more energy efficient. The growing problem that really disturbs me is that while I consume less energy then I did in previous years my energy bills continue to climb at a record pace.
Within this site it will be our goal to provide alternatives, insight and advice to help you make the switch to alternatives that are both friendly to environment and to your pocket book.
I encourage you to Join The Solution.
Sincerely,
Glenn D Burks
