Hydro power has been in use by man for hundreds of years, utilizing water wheels. The weight of falling water carries a tremendous force behind it and it is only natural that man has harnessed it to produce electricity.
Hydroelectricity is the power generated from a hydroelectric power plant. Approximately 20% of the world’s electrical power is produced via this method.
Today it ranks at the top for generating electrical power from renewable sources. Yet it is a limited resource, both from a physical and an environmental stand point.
Very few people are willing to dam up rivers today, for the generation of electrical energy, I’m one of them.
