Geothermal Energy
Sounds like a wonderful renewable energy source. I can remember years ago the pilot projects found in the mountains of New Mexico.
Yet, its entry into the energy production field has only reached about 0.3% of the global electrical production as of 2007.
And it still has a few environmental impacts that we have to be concerned about, like the fluids drawn from the earth carry carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide gases.
These are the gases that are of concern to global warming. Yet, in comparison they are just a small fraction compared to conventional fossil fuels.
