Carbon Based Energy
Has been at the forefront of the rise of the Industrial Revolution, and today is a very hotly debated issue. With Global Warming news articles warning of impending disaster, the question remains can we cut our addiction to carbon based fuels?
Coal, Oil, and Natural Gas provide the bulk of our energy needs today, and moving towards alternative energy solutions seems to be painfully slow.
Yet, it is not just you and I that are addicted to fossil fuels, but our governments’ that has the real addiction. Many will argue with that statement and try to dismiss it, the fact remains that they are addicted to the windfall profits it generates.
Many sources point to the burning of carbon-based fossil fuels as the main cause of rising carbon dioxide levels and there is not doubt that it is a contributing factor.
Yet, there are other factors that are seldom talked about, such as the continued de-forestation occurring around the globe.
